For two years, George Springer was struck in a hitting dry spell.

But, if the start of this year is any indication, it seems like Springer's finally gotten his groove back.

Entering Wednesday's games, Springer leads baseball with a .459 batting average along with boasting an American League-leading on-base percentage (.524).

He's paired that with two home runs, nine RBI, 17 hits, two doubles, a triple and two stolen bases this season.

His best performance this season came on Monday when he recorded four hits (and gathered three RBI) in the Blue Jays' 6-2 win over the Boston Red Sox.

A day later, he also belted his second home run of the season in another Blue Jays win.

While Springer's struggles over the past two years had led to fans calling for his job, Springer talked about his struggles at spring training and said that he wasn't worried.

Now we can see why.

One of the big reasons why Springer could be hitting better this year is his new role in the lineup. He's moved out of the leadoff spot (he's mostly hit fifth or sixth in the lineup this year) and seems to be relishing in this new role.

It seems like Springer worked hard to make adjustments at the plate, and it seems to be paying off. The return of his power-hitting form has been fun to watch.

He seems more confident in the box, and seems focused on driving the ball to all fields. While all of his extra-base hits were pulled, he's already deposited six singles the opposite way.

His improvement at the plate is also noticeable in his advanced statistics. He currently ranks in the 90th percentile or better in expected weighted on-base percentage, expected batting average, expected slugging, exit velocity, barrel rate, hard-hit rate and sweet-spot rate.

So he's in the top tier of nearly every important stat that matters. While Springer's numbers will eventually come back to earth, those advanced stats show that he's not just getting lucky.

The Blue Jays big bats have gotten off to a bit of a slow start, so Springer's offensive resurgence has been an incredible help for a Blue Jays team that's been able to keep pace in the ultra-competitive American League East.
