Things are going pretty good for George Springer right now.

After two tough years, Springer's off to a hot start this year. In fact, after his four-hit, three RBI day yesterday, Springer leads all qualifying hitters with a .455 batting average.

After having that performance, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that he was chosen to have the post-game interview on the field with Sportsnet's Hazel Mae. And after talking about the nuances of hitting the cold and his hot start to the season, he touched on the biggest news in Canada: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s extension.

Earlier that day, it was reported that Guerrero signed a 14-year, $500 million extension to stay with the Blue Jays, which is news that Blue Jays fans (and honestly all of Canada) have been waiting years for.

And Springer spoke for all of those fans.

George Springer's newest comments confirm Blue Jays made the right decision about Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

"It's huge to have him here for what seems like his whole life, essentially, is incredible" Springer told Sportnet's Hazel Mae after the game. "He deserves it. I'm happy for the city, the fans and country. I firmly believe that he's going to be hanging in the rafters. "I couldn't be happier for us as an organization but I'm also happy for him."

Springer knows a thing or two about getting a big contract from the Blue Jays, as his six-year, $151 million contract was the largest contract in Blue Jays history prior to Guerrero's contract (which isn't official yet but will likely be announced today or tomorrow.)

And while Guerrero's contract eclipses Springer's by a large margin, it's still a discount by today's MLB standards. It's $265 million less than Juan Soto's (while still being the same number of years), and comes with various different degrees of impact.

As Springer mentioned, Guerrero's a Canadian citizen and has been around the city's baseball scene thanks to his dad starring for the Expos, so him being the face of Canda's team is a huge win for Toronto.

Guerrero's on a Hall of Fame pace to start his career, so it's not hyperbole for Springer to say that Guerrero's jersey will hang in the rafters of Rogers Centre when it's all said in done.

And if Springer keeps up his torrid pace, there could be a good chance the Blue Jays could add some other banners to those rafters sooner rather than later.

Springer's gone 15-for-33 to start the season while playing in all 11 games, and has already been worth 0.8 bWAR after only being worth 1.1 bWAR all of last season.

While he'll likely tail off at some point, a productive season from him would be a huge boon for the Blue Jays.

As the owner of the second-largest contract in franchise history, Springer isn't going anywhere. And, in what's great news for Canadian baseball fans, neither is Guerrero.
