The 2025 Toronto Blue Jays will go down as one of the best teams in franchise history. From being under .500 in late-May, to now clinching a spot in the 2025 MLB Postseason. It's the fourth time in six years the Blue Jays are postseason bound with a 90-66 record.
This season has been special and arguably the best team in the Vladimir Guerrero Jr./ Bo Bichette era. 2025 has also seen a huge bounce back year from George Springer with him producing not only his best season as a Blue Jay, but one of the best in his entire career. Catcher Alejandro Kirk has also risen his game, becoming one of the top catchers in MLB.
The 8-5 win to close out their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium was the Blue Jays' final road game in 2025. The Blue Jays finished 40-41 overall on the road and have six games remaining at Rogers Centre where there's a chance to make some history.
Blue Jays can break a franchise record at home
On Aug. 17, Blue Jays beat writer Josh Golberg tweeted that if the Blue Jays were to finish 13-6 in their final 19 games at home, they would break the franchise's record for home wins in a single season.
The Blue Jays' .677 winning % at home would be the best in franchise history (.675 in 1985 is the record)

A 13-6 finish in the remaining home games would set the franchise record with 55 home wins
At the moment, the Blue Jays have a 50-25 home record and so they will have to go 5-1 or better during the six-game home stand to break the franchise record. They have three games each against the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays to close out the season with the Red Sox coming into town on Tuesday.
There will be lots to play for in the series against the Red Sox. Boston is fighting for a spot in the 2025 postseason while the Blue Jays are seeking their first division title since 2015, and the opportunity to clinch the AL's best record. There could be nothing to play for by the time the Rays roll into town on Friday, as they are eliminated from making the postseason. But the Yankees start the week just two games back of Toronto in the AL East and they could close the gap by Friday, meaning the Blue Jays will need to take the Rays seriously.
It will be a tall task to go 5-1 this week at home and set a new record for home wins, but the Blue Jays may need every single one of those victories to secure their spot at the top of the American League.
