Arjun Nimmala has been the shining star of the Blue Jays' farm system since the team drafted him in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft. And while his star has always burned bright since then, that star has gone supernova as of late.

After opening the year in every major publication's Top 100 list prospects, had a 19 spot jump in MLB Pipeline's midseason list, which is the third-highest jump of any prospect on the list.

Nimmala is now ranked as the No. 59 prospect in all of baseball, per MLB Pipeline.

NImmala's jump is the fourth-best mark on the list behind Yankees shortstop George Lombard Jr. (who jumped 49 spots), Brewers shortstop Jesús Made (who jumped 26 spots) and Dodgers outfielder Zyhir Hope (who jumped 21 spots).

That ascent shouldn't come a surprise given how he's played lately. Nimmala entered play on Tuesday with a .280 batting average across 28 games this year to go along with nine doubles, seven home runs and 15 RBI for the High-A Vancouver Canadians.

He's been feasting on High-A pitching, and could be due for a promotion soon (especially since the Yankees have already promoted Lombard from High-A to Double-A).

That strong play caught the eye of MLB's Sam Dykstra, who wrote:

Nimmala has similarly continued his momentum after a second-half turnaround last summer and has cut down on the strikeouts while maintaining his power production with High-A Vancouver.

Nimmala is now lodged between the White Sox's Edgar Quero (who is 22 and made his MLB debut earlier this year) and the Los Angeles Angels Christian Moore, who is in Double-A and should make his MLB debut next year.

Nimmala is one of thirteen 19-year-olds on the list, and there are only 12 players his age or younger who are ranked higher than him.

The only other Blue Jays on the update list is Trey Yesavage, who they now have as the No. 71 prospect in baseall. Yesavage has also gotten off to a strong start this year, as he has a 2.22 ERA in 28 1/3 innings for Single-A Dunedin.

He could also be ticketed to a promotion, through he'd likely be joining Vancouver right as Nimmala would be leaving.

Nimmala's rise on MLB PIpeline's list comes just days after he was one of three Blue Jays to earn a spot in Baseball America's Top 100 list.

It'll be interesting to see if any of this impacts Nimmala's timeline to make it to MLB. The Blue Jays have been slow playing both him and Yesavage, but they've both proven everything they can at their current level.

Regardless, Nimmala's ascent in MLB Pipeline's rankings shows how much the 19-year-old has grown so far this season.
