A handful of Blue Jays prospects have been turning heads this season and Arjun Nimmala is the latest one to take the minor league circuit by storm.
While the Blue Jays' minor league system isn't as highly rated as some other ones, Nimmala's strong start (along with strong starts by some of his fellow minor leaguers), it seems like there's a chance that Toronto's system is actually undervalued.
MLB Pipeline has Nimmala ranked the Blue Jays' No. 1 prospect, so there'll always be more eyes on him than the average minor leaguer.
He's done well to not let that pressure get to his head so far this season.
Blue Jays top prospect is on an unbelievable tear in High-A
The 19-year-old showed off his jaw-dropping power recently by homering in three straight games from April 25-27 for High-A Vancouver. He's batting .275 with five home runs and 10 RBI on the season along with having 22 hits and one stolen base.
The Blue Jays drafted Nimmala in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft, and his development has been fun to watch.

Blue Jays fans got to witness Nimmala's power this spring when he hit a home run against the Pirates on March 5.
The homer left his bat at 106 miles per hour, which is an incredibly impressive exit velocity considering his age and relative inexperience in playing at the higher levels of minor league baseball.

While his three homer game is obviously impressive, his consistency this season has also been good to see. He had a 10-game hitting streak earlier this year, and he's had a hit in 15 of the 19 games that he's played so far this season.
Nimmala hit .232 with 17 home runs last year in 90 games between the Florida Complex League and Single-A, which makes his .275 batting average this year even more impressive.
While he's not expected to make his MLB debut until late 2026, he could force the Blue Jays' hand if he keeps slugging home runs at the rate that he's been going.
The Blue Jayslineup has been struggling as of late, so the thought of having a player like Nimmala in the lineup is intoxicating.

It also helps that Nimmala plays a cornerstone position like shortstop. He's still a bit of a work in progress on defense, but that's something that will come with time.
He had some rough stints last year, but it seems like he worked through those struggles and is beginning to shine.
Nimmala signifies a new era of Blue Jays baseball. While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be with the Blue Jays whenever Nimmala makes his debut, it will likely be a new-look MLB roster at that point. But regardlesss of what that roster looks like, it seems like Nimmala and Trey Yesavage will be its anchors.
