Toronto Blue Jays Manager John Schneider wasn't overly pleased with one specific area of the Yankees game plan, following Sunday's contest in New York. The Blue Jays fell 4-3, dropping the final two-games of their three game set in the Bronx, and with Max Scherzer on the mound for Toronto, the Yankees were fairly blatant about stealing signs off the veteran Mad Max.
Following the game Schneider had some comments about that part of the Yankees game plan. Schneider came flat out and told reporters, "They were relaying (pitches)...And it's fair game, the whole Major League Baseball knows the Yankees are good when they got something. I'm not the only one that's going to say it. Maybe I'm the only one who’s going to say it publicly, but we got to do a better job of making sure we're not giving anything away."

Schneider isn't the only one who is aware of it. The man on the mound, Scherzer, admitted it's something he has to continuously work on, even as a 41-year-old veteran.
“That's something we're aware of,” Scherzer said. “You can you get my changeup out of my glove from first base. Something we've known. It's not just the Yankees. We know across the league guys can do that. I've had multiple people tell me that so I thought I had addressed it, thought I had made the proper adjustment to get my glove in front of my face. But, clearly, I hadn't. That's part of the game,” he told reporters after the game. “It's 2025. Everybody knows it, we live it, that's just part of the game.”
Toronto as a whole better hope they can figure it out considering the Yankees could be a playoff opponent this season. In fact a Yankees-Blue Jays matchup carries a lot of intrigue for people around the league and it would be fitting if these two foes who battled all season for the AL East title, get to go head-to-head in the playoffs as well.
