New Hampshire Fisher Cats vs Akron Rubber Ducks (Loss 3-7)

A pitchers duel between The Fisher Cats Taylor Cole and Shawn Morimando turned into an extra inning affair.  Taylor Cole pitched solid through his 7 innings of work but had a thorn is his side named Bradley Zimmer.  Zimmer touched up Cole for 2 home runs in what became an excellent showing for him.  Cole would only allow 5 hits during his work but allowed 3 runs.  He also walked 3 while striking out 2.  Cole gave way to John Anderson who looked good over his 1.2 innings of work.  He did not allow a base runner during his outing.  Blake McFarland would come on and lead the Cats into the 10th.  The train came off the tracks however as McFarland allowed a single, hit a batter and an error.  Now with the bases loaded Carlos Moncrief knocks a grand slam.  This would seal the Cats fate.

Melky Mesa knocked his 3rd home run as a member of the Fisher Cats.  The homer was 1 of 2 extra base hits by the Cats.  The other was a Martin Medina triple.  The offense had a rough go at the plate as they were struck out 11 times by Rubber Ducky pitching.  They were able to scavenge just enough runs to stay in the game.  The game went to extras tied at 3 but they just could not come up with the 4 runs to tie the game in the bottom of the 10th after the grand salami.

Line of the game

John Anderson 1.2 innings, 0 hits, 0 run, 0 walks, o strike outs.
