At the Plate DH Michael Saunders went 1-for-1 with a run scored before giving way to L.B. Dantzler. 1B Matt Dean, 2B Andy Fermin, and LF David Harris each had 2-hits, but it was Harris who delivered the biggest blow with his first home run. Harris hit a solo shot and a two-run single for 3 RBI.
On the mound Luis Santos pitched 4.2, gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3 and was taken yard by a rehabbing Domonic Brown in the 3rd inning. Chad Girodo was tagged with a blown save and the win. He pitched an inning and third, allowing a run on 2-hits, no walks and 2 strike outs. Wil Browning notched his 2nd save after allowing a hit, a walk and strike out in the 9th.
Prospect watch: Dawel Lugo hitting 3rd today is off to good start with hits in his first 4 games. He has yet to work a walk, but he has only struck out 2 in his first taste of Advanced-A ball. Not bad for a 20 year-old playing against men 2.6 years older.
Next game: D-Jays TBD vs Bradenton TBD
