The trade deadline should once again be an exciting time for the Toronto Blue Jays this season. After a forgettable 2024 campaign in which they finished dead last in the American League East, they have bounced back nicely this year in resurrecting themselves back into contention status.
To beef up their roster heading into the stretch run, the Blue Jays will likely need to part ways with some top prospects in order to get any quality deals done. However, at the same time, they shouldn’t sacrifice too much of the future in the process if they intend to build sustainable success for years to come. As a result, which Jays top prospects have made themselves practically untouchable at the 2025 trade deadline?
2 Blue Jays prospects that have made themselves untouchable at 2025 trade deadline
SS Arjun Nimmala
Taken in the first round out of Strawberry Crest High School by the Blue Jays in the 2023 MLB Draft, Arjun Nimmala has made great progress in his development since joining the organization that very summer.
Over the past two years, Nimmala had captured the Florida State League Player of the Month Award back in August of 2024 with Single-A Dunedin and has recently been named the Northwest League Player of the Week towards the end of May this season with the High-A Vancouver Canadians.
For 2025, Nimmala has batted .237 with a .738 OPS, along with 50 runs scored, 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 36 RBIs in 76 games played. In doing so, Nimmala has since jumped all the way up to No. 50 for MLB’s top 100 prospects list.

At just the young age of 19, his potential at this point is limitless. Added to the murky future of Bo Bichette and his tenure with the Jays, Nimmala could be the heir to the shortstop position in the not-so-distant future. As a result, to allow him to realize his potential, Toronto should retain their No. 1 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, in their system no matter what.
P Trey Yesavage
It seems like the Jays have had a hard time coming up with homegrown front-end-of-the-rotation talent over the last decade or more. And when they appeared to finally have some players that could fit that bill with Nate Pearson, Alex Manoah and Ricky Tiedemann in recent years, injuries would partly derail their once-promising careers.
Therefore, when a rare find comes their way, the Blue Jays should do all they can to develop and keep their prized prospect. They certainly appear to have one now in top pitching prospect in Trey Yesavage.

So how impressive has Yesavage been? Having just started professional baseball this season with the Jays organization, he has already moved up to Double-A New Hampshire along with becoming their No. 2 prospect in their entire system.
On the season, he has posted a cumulative 5-1 record, 3.19 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, along with a whopping 111 strikeouts in just 67 2/3 innings pitched over 16 starts. With the ability to become the next potential homegrown ace of the Jays’ pitching staff in the near future, Toronto should not let this valuable franchise piece go under any circumstances.
And with the way that Yesavage has been developing, that day could come even sooner than expected.
