The World Baseball Classic is returning in 2026 and each country's roster is slowly beginning to come together.

We already know one member of the Blue Jays organization will be competing in the tournament (Triple-A reliever Eric Pardinho will be playing for Brazil), but, with the tournament right around the corner, we figured it would be worthwhile to take a look at some of the bigger names on the Blue Jays roster who could be participating in next year's WBC.

Which Blue Jays could we see in next year's World Baseball Classic?

Venezuela

Anthony Santander and Andrés Giménez

Santander and Giménez appeared for Team Venezuela in the 2023 WBC and made their presence known in the batter's box. Santander smashed two home runs along with six hits while Giménez racked up five hits and drove in one run. They are both expected to be on the rosters for the 2026 WBC.

Dominican Republic

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Yimi García

The face of the Blue Jays, Guerrero was set to play for the Dominican Republic in the 2023 WBC before he had to withdraw from the tournament due to knee discomfort. García ended up playing and pitched a scoreless inning in a loss to Venezuela.

They've both had strong starts to the 2025 season, as Guerrero's hitting .280 and signed a 14-year extension with the Blue Jays, while García has yet to allow a run in 10 1/3 innings of work.

The Dominican Republic will likely be a team on a mission in 2026 they were eliminated in Pool Play in 2023, so it's hard to imagine a world where both Guerrero and García don't play for the team.

While the team's roster hasn't been announced yet, Albert Pujols has already been tabbed as the team's skipper after leading Leones del Escogido to the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) championship in the winter.

Mexico

Alejandro Kirk

Kirk was planning to represent team Mexico in the WBC but withdrew from the tournament following the birth of his child. Austin Barnes took over for Kirk and hit .278 in five games.

But, like Guerrero, Kirk signed a long-term contract with the Blue Jays this year and should represent his country in 2026.

Mexico was beating Japan in the ninth inning of WBC semifinal in 2023 before Japan came back to win, so Kirk will be joining a talented squad.

Puerto Rico

José Berríos

Berríos made a start for Team Puerto Rico in 2023 and gave up five runs off five hits to Team Venezuela. He is expected to play for Puerto Rico in 2026 and be a significant part of the team's pitching staff.

The team has already named Francisco Lindor will be it's captain for the second-straight WBC , and Berríos' presence will add to a deep, veteran team. Puerto Rico made it to the quarterfinal in 2023 where they lost to Mexico.
