While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. entered the Blue Jays' game on Wednesday with 160 MLB home runs to his name, his powerful home run against the Braves on Wednesday might be one of the most memorable homers of his career.

And, according to Guerrero's reaction afterward, it was also a long time coming.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s first home run of the year was majestic

Guerrero entered Wednesday's game in a bit of a power outage, as he'd yet to hit a home run this year and was slugging just .333.

That changed in the sixth inning, as Guerrero smashed a 412-foot home run for his first longball of the year. It came on an 83 mile per hour slider that caught far too much of the plate.

The ball left the Guerrero's bat at 108.9 miles per hour, which was somehow the second -hardest ball he hit during the game. He had a first inning single that left his bat at 113.2 mph.

Guerrero knew the ball was gone from the moment it left his bat, and he took his time to admire the majestic blast as it soared toward the seats at Rogers Centre.

Once Guerrero got the dugout, he spoke for all of Toronto with a hilarious NSFW sentence.

While no one was worried about Guerrero's lack of home runs(he didn't hit 136 home runs from 2021 to '24 by accident), it doesn't mean that the Blue Jays faithful at Rogers Centre weren't eager to celebrate his first home run of the year.

While any home run from Guerrero will always send Canada into a frenzy, this one meant a little more since it was his first home run since he signed his 14-year, $500 million extension with the Blue Jays.

For the past couple years, every Guerrero home run seemed like a bit of a bittersweet celebration since his lack of extension hung like a cloud over the team. Now, every home run is a reminder of Guererro's future with the team.

Reliever Erik Swanson said it best.

Guerrero's homer ends the longest season-opening home run drought that he's had in his career. Prior to this year, the longest season-opening homer drought in his career was when it took hime 14 games to hit his first career home run in 2019.

Guerrero's home run on Wednesday is just another tangible example that the 26-year-old is starting to heat up. He's hitting .333 (15-for-45) over his past 12 games, and Wednesday's two-hit outing marks his seventh multi-hit game over that span.

The Blue Jays entered Wednesday's game with just 11 home runs on the season (which was tied for the second-lowest mark in baseball), but Guerrero's home run was a reminder that Toronto has a powerful lineup that seems poised to break out.
