Will you ever have a birthday as cool as this young fan's?

Friday's shutout win over the San Francisco Giants was exactly what the Toronto Blue Jays needed coming out of the All-Star Break. Chris Basitt threw six and a third strong innings with five strikeouts, and the bottom of the lineup stepped up for all the offense. Fans who attended the game left the Rogers Centre happy, but nobody was probably as happy as this kid after the ballgame.

Standing behind home plate, this young Blue Jays fan held up a sign that said, "It's my birthday, go Jays." Just as he was about to head to the clubhouse, Vladdy noticed the fan holding the sign. Guerrero Jr. then pointed the kid out to one of the team assistants and asked to give him a bat.

The birthday boy will almost certainly have a hard time topping future birthdays for years to come, but at least he has a core memory that'll last a lifetime.

It's always great to see these players show their connection to the fans, something Guerrero talked about in his video where he announced he was staying in Toronto after signing his mega-deal extension in April.

Vladdy talked about his connection to the city and the fans and it is something he has backed up with these little moments along the way. Even though he isn't having the monster season many had anticipated, and he's clearly putting pressure on himself to re-write that narrative and have a big run post-All-Star break, he still takes a few moments to go out of his way to make a fans day.

Guerrero is hitting .275/.382/.429 with an OPS of .810 with 12 home runs and 46 RBI. He has walked 57 times and has only struck out 59 times in 96 games and 422 plate appearances. He has been in rut since hitting his last home run on June 30, hitting just .245, with 10 strikeouts, but he is still getting on-base at a .365 clip, with 13 hits and 10 walks in 63 plate appearances.
