Seven Blue Jays' prospects whose bats have caught fire over the last month

At the Major League Level, the Toronto Blue Jays are finally getting some sustained offensive performances. Alejandro Kirk has hit .366 with four home runs and a174 wRC+ since Jul. 22. Andrés Giménez has slashed .298/.344/.381 with eight stolen bases in his last 26 games. Brett Bateman, in his first 13 games has been a revolution to the top of the order with a .367 OBP with a 1.9 offensive fWAR to go along with a 2.9 defensive fWAR.

Down on the farm, seven Blue Jays' prospects are having similarly hot months. The bats have come alive in the dog days of summer and their performances deserve some recognition.

Alexis Hernandez

Picked up in the minor league portion of the 2023 Rule-5 Draft, the Blue Jays may have a real asset on their hands with Hernandez, after taking him out of the Red Sox system. The 23-year-old outfielder was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire at the beginning of August and hasn't slowed down since reaching the next level.

Between High-A Vancouver and Double-A, over the last 30 days Hernandez has hit .354 with three home runs, 17 RBIs and four stolen bases. He's posted a .931 OPS, a .409 BABIP and a 146 wRC+ in 97 plate appearances.

JoJo Parker

The Blue Jays' first round draft pick from 2025 has had a productive first season of pro-baseball, but he's really picked up his game over the last 30 days. The 19-year-old has hit .320/.427/.600 with four home runs and 19 RBIs.

He's played 10 games at High-A Vancouver since being promoted and has a .360 BABIP with a .419 OBP and 126 wRC+.

Dub Gleed

The 23-year-old Gleed was acquired from the Miami Marlins on Mar. 29, 2026 in exchange for fellow infielder Leo Jimenez. Gleed started the year at High-A Vancouver, but was promoted after 46 games. He's elevated his game a notch since the promotion, and this last month may be his best stretch of his pro-ball career.

Gleed has hit .306 with seven home runs, tied with two other players for the most in the Blue Jays' system within that time frame. He's posted a .364 OBP, a .296 ISO to go along with a 148 wRC+.

Jake Cook

Toronto's third round draft pick from last year's draft, Cook is in his first season of professional baseball. He's spent all but five games at Single-A Dunedin, and it's taken a little bit for the rest of his game to catch up to his legs.

Cook has speed to burn, but through his first 43 games, he hit just .244, but managed a 15% walk rate to give himself a .367 OBP and stole 15 bases in the process. Over the last month, Cook has upped his game, by posting a .286 batting average to go along with four home runs, a .396 OBP and a 143 wRC+.

Jake Casey

Casey was drafted in the 15th round by Toronto last year. The 23-year-old outfielder got off to a slow start thanks to a broken hamate suffered after just one game. He returned in June, but has really picked things up in the power department over the last month.

He's one of three prospects with seven home runs in the month to raise his total to 11 on the season. While he's managed just a .247 batting average, he's posted a .348 OBP, an .894 OPS with a .299 ISO, a 128 wRC+. 14 of his 24 hits have been for extra bases and he's driven in 29 RBIs.

Aldo Gaxiola

Signed as an amateur free agent out of Mexico in 2023, Gaxiola only played in the Domincan Summer League the first two years after he was signed. He spent his entire age-19 season in the Complex League, and began this year at Single-A Dunedin.

The 20-year-old first baseman / third baseman has had a great season, but after hitter .236/.294/.421 through his first 61 games, the last 19 games have been eye popping. He's hit .338/.423/.615 with an OPS of 1.038 and a wRC+ of 164. He's blasted five home runs, driven in 17 RBIs and has 22 total hits.

Nick Goodwin

Taken in the seventh round of the 2023 draft, the 24-year-old middle infielder needed a month like this. While he's posted decent numbers over his first three and a half years in Toronto's system, it felt like there was some more untapped potential waiting to be unleashed.

Goodwin may have found that over the last 30 days. He's batted .354/.470/.523 with a wRC+ of 167. He owns a 15.7% walk rate, with 15 free passes compared to 15 strikeouts, while posting a .442 BABIP over that span. He has nearly as many doubles (11) as singles (12).
