Daulton Varsho can nab another award for his defense, but he'll need an assist from fans.

The Blue Jays outfielder, fresh off his Gold Glove Award win for American League center fielder, has a chance to win the Rawlings Platinum Glove Award. The award is given to a Gold Glove winner in each league as the best defensive player as selected by fans.

Fans can cast their ballot for Varsho and a National League Gold Glove winner on the Rawlings Platinum Glove site here. All fans should be encouraged to vote, as by casting a vote will automatically enter them into a contest for gift cards or a custom designed Rawlings glove.

Varsho's defense in the outfield was one of the reasons Toronto acquired him from the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022. He led the majors with 28 defensive runs saved in 2024, a year after tying for the MLB lead with 27 in 2023. Varsho's glove has been drawing attention from a number of outlets, such as Sports Illustrated referring to him as "one of the best overall defenders in the game."

Under team control through the 2026 season, it appears Varsho, 28, will be the Blue Jays regular centerfielder for the near future. He is currently recovering from right shoulder surgery, which was performed in September. General Manager Ross Atkins told Rogers Sportsnet Varsho is recovering well and has spent some time at the Blue Jays development complex.

If he wins, Varsho, who has also won two Fielding Bible Awards this offseason, would join former Blue Jays Kevin Kiermaier and Matt Chapman as Platinum Glove winners. Kiermaier won it in 2015 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, while Chapman won the award back-to-back in 2018 and 2019 with the Oakland Athletics. No Blue Jay has won a Platinum Glove since Rawlings started handing the award out in 2011.

Chapman is one of three American League players who have won the Platinum Glove twice, the others being Alex Gordon and Hall-of-Famer Adrian Beltre. Yadier Molina has won the NL award four times, while Nolan Arenado won it six times in a row from 2017 to 2022.
