The Toronto Blue Jays are Canada's team. No doubt about it they have captured the attention of an entire nation with their inspired run to the 2025 World Series. It's a run that has enthralled so many people around the city of Toronto and beyond that it has forced people to find ways to help the team gain any advantage over the LA Dodgers. even if they don't actually work for the team. -

Or, at least, that's what Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts would like people to believe. The LA bench boss wasn't pleased with his flight home from Toronto and insinuated that there may have been some ulterior motives at play at Pearson International Airport after Game 2.

Did Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts create a conspiracy theory about Canadian airports?

Roberts was late for the team's workout on Sunday ahead of Game 3 of the World Series and when he was asked about his tardiness he responded with an accusatory tone about his travel issues. Roberts said, "There was some delays. I don’t know if there was intent or not. But, man, the international stuff was a bear. But we made it. We made it."

Roberts was questioned further and said that the delay was spent sitting on the tarmac. Not all of the Dodgers players and staff travelled together as reports indicated that Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow said his flight was not delayed. It certainly adds some fuel to the fire in a series that was already growing intense.

Going into the series, it was expected that superstar Shohei Ohtani would at the very least be booed by the Toronto faithful. Not only was he booed he was showed with chants of "We don't need you," by tens of thousands in attendance at Rogers Centre during Game 1. Ironically, most of that vitriol stemmed from another incident involving a plane - the infamous FlightGate saga of December of 2023 in which Ohtani was wrongfully assumed to be on a plane from LA to Toronto.

On the flip side, George Springer is expected to receive a ton of negative reaction from the Dodgers crowd in Games 3-5. Dodgers fans have not forgotten that he was a member of the Houston Astros who 'defeated' the Dodgers in the 2017 World Series, a series marred by the Astros sign stealing scandal. Springer has already been thrown at in several at-bats this series and in the ALCS he was hit directly in the knee by the Seattle Mariners, before ending their season with a three-run home run in Game 7.

While Roberts comments are certainly questionable, he isn't outright saying that the Blue Jays are involved in the unforeseen schedule interruptions at Pearson. However, the fact he stated that the delays may have been intentional is a wild comment to make.

Approximately 1,000 planes leave Pearson Airport each day. Anyone whose ever been on a plane knows how rare it is that they actually take off on time. But for a bunch of airport workers to coordinate a scheduled delay just because the Dodgers manager happens to be on board seems a little farfetched - though stranger things have happened.
