George Springer left Monday night's game against the LA Dodgers earlier than he anticipated. The Toronto Blue Jays veteran outfielder exited Game 3 of the World Series in the middle of his at-bat in the seventh inning after a big cut on a first pitch 96 mph sinker that he fouled off.
Springer immediately pointed to his side after the swing and met the Blue Jays manager and their trainer halfway to the dugout. After a few words, Springer was taken out of the game.

Blue Jays may have just been dealt a crucial injury blow in Game 3 of the World Series
It's the second time this postseason that Springer has been hurt during an at-bat. In Game 5 of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners, Springer was hit directly on the knee cap. It was the exact same pitch that hit Springer as the one that took him out of Game 3 of the World Series; a 96 mph sinker. The one in Seattle was delivered by Bryan Woo in a 1-1 count in the top of the seventh.
The one that Woo threw caused Springer to roll on the ground in obvious pain but he got up, trotted down to first to see if he could put any pressure on the injured knee. He couldn't, and then made his way off the field to a chorus of boos from the Mariners faithful - a situation that stirred up some anger within the Blue Jays clubhouse.
Springer underwent X-Rays on his knee, and those came back negative, which turned out to be a huge positive for the Blue Jays. Springer would return and hit the biggest home run the franchise has seen in 32 years, sending the Blue Jays to the World Series with a three-run bomb in the seventh inning of Game 7.

We'll await for more information on how severe the injury is to Springer and whether he can continue to play in the World Series for the Blue Jays. If he can't it would be a big loss for Toronto. Aside from that three-run home run, Springer has hit .246/.323/.561 with four home runs and nine RBIs this postseason.
