The Toronto Blue Jays have a few prospects who are enjoying some big hot streaks right now. Blue Jays prospects Tucker Toman, Seojun Moon, and Carson Messina are all showing a ton of promise in the minors.
Down with High-A Vancouver, Toman has been on a real tear at the plate. Over the last 14 days, the Blue Jays prospect has recorded six home runs, 12 extra base hits, and a 1.621 OPS. These are very encouraging numbers from the 22-year-old shortshop, and it should make fans more optimistic about his future with Toronto.

Tucker Toman headlines the list after posting a terrific 1.621 OPS over the last two weeks, powered by 12 XBH. The 77th overall pick from the 2022 draft has started to live up to draft pedigree!

Moon just put together an excellent start in his most recent appearance for the FCL Blue Jays. In 3.2 innings pitched, he set a new career-high with six strikeouts in one appearance. He also allowed only one earned run and three hits in his strong start. There is a lot to like about the 19-year-old righty, and he is a prospect fans should keep a closer eye on from here.

3.2 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 6 Ks
The 19-year-old righty set a new career high with six strikeouts in an outing.
As for Messina, he had a very strong outing for Single-A Dunedin this week. The 6-foot-2 righty allowed zero hits and struck out five batters in four innings pitched. This is definitely the kind of stuff that the Blue Jays want to see from the Summerville, South Carolina native.

Blue Jays needed more from Bieber in his first start of the 2026 season
Things did not go to plan for Shane Bieber in his first start of the season for the Blue Jays on Tuesday against the Houston Astros. In 3.2 innings pitched, the former Cy Young Award winner allowed three home runs, four earned runs, and nine hits.
Bieber also had 10 hard-hit balls and just six whiffs in his first appearance of the season for the Blue Jays, so it was simply a start to forget for the veteran.
That's a pretty disquieting 2026 debut from Shane Bieber.

More hard-hit balls (10) than whiffs (6).
Sat at 91.7 MPH with his four-seamer, topped out at 92.7, and generated no swing-and-miss with it.
Way too many pitches right down the middle.

Bieber was also transparent about his first start of the season while speaking with Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith: "Not happy with it. I put the team behind the eight-ball from the get-go. The first few innings I was shaking the rust off and obviously that fourth it unraveled a bit," Bieber said.
Bieber will now be looking to bounce back in his next start after beginning this season on the wrong foot.

Kazuma Okamoto gets big shout-out from John Schneider
While the Blue Jays fell to the Houston Astros on Tuesday (and Wednesday), Kazuma Okamoto still stepped up for them. The 29-year-old infielder went 3-for-4 at the plate and had three RBIs against Houston in their extra innings loss (Jun. 23). This included him hitting a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Toronto a 6-4 lead.
Okamoto's strong game certainly grabbed the attention of John Schneider, as the Blue Jays manager gave him a shout-out. According to Nicholson-Smith, Schneider said that Okamoto has "really, really impressed" him and said that the Blue Jays rising star "just continues to get better."

When looking at how well Okamoto has been playing for the Blue Jays, it is hard to argue against Schneider's take. In 77 games this season with Toronto, he now has 17 home runs, 67 hits, 49 RBI, and a .241 batting average.
