Getting selected to play in the MLB All-Star Game is a huge honor for any player. With the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is just days away Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk have been selected to represent the Toronto Blue Jays in this years mid-summer classic.

Throughout franchise history, the Blue Jays have had their popular share of players play in the All-Star Game. From Guerrero Jr., to Jose Bautista, to Josh Donaldson, to Edwin Encarnacion, to Roy Halladay and more. The Blue Jays have also had players make the All-Star Game that some people may have forgotten about.

However, of all the players who have made the All-Star Game as a Blue Jay, only two players have ever hit a home run in the game itself. For a franchise that has been around since 1977, you'd think that number would be a little bit higher.

Only two home runs have been hit by Blue Jay players in All-Star Game history

The two players who have gone yard at the All-Star game are Guerrero Jr. and Roberto Alomar.

Guerrero Jr. was the last Blue Jay to hit a home run in an All-Star game back in 2021. Guerrero Jr. launched a 468-foot home run at Coors Field off of pitcher Corbin Burnes, who went on to win the 2021 National League Cy Young.

Guerrero Jr. would also win 2021 All-Star Game MVP to become the first Blue Jay to win the award and the youngest player to win that award as well.

Alomar was the first and only other Blue Jay to hit a home run during the All-Star Game. That happened during the 1993 festivities during the game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. His home run came off pitcher Andy Benes.

Fast forward to 2025, the Blue Jays are in first place in the AL East Division with Guerrero Jr. leading the way and both he and Kirk have a chance to add to that Blue Jays history. Guerrero with an opportunity to become the only Blue Jay to homer at two separate All-Star games, while Kirk has a chance to become just the third member of the Toronto franchise to go yard.
