After a bit of a swoon, the Blue Jays have played well over the past two weeks, and are beginning to have the look of a contender. Last season theythreaded the needle between buyer and seller by trading out some veterans on expiring contracts in exchange for some MLB-ready prospects, but they could take a different route this year.
The Blue Jays confirmed their plans of contention in the present and future when they signed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a long-term contract, which means they likely won't be sellers at the deadline.
But even if they aren't in on some of the bigger names in free agency, they'll still likely make a couple moves on the margins, which means there should be plenty of players joining and leaving the Blue Jays organization.
Here are three propects who Toronto could dangle as trade bait at this year's deadline.
These three Blue Jays prospects should be expandable at the trade deadline
RJ Schreck

The Blue Jays acquired Schreck from the Mariners at the trade deadline last year in exchange for Justin Turner in a deal that's beginning to look like a steal. MLB Pipeline as the 24-year-old as the No. 19 prospect in the organization, and he's enjoying a strong start to the season in Double-A.
He's slashing .239/.372/.493 this year in 22 games with four home runs, four doubles and a triple, but he has an alarming strikeout rate of 27.9%. That power will likely draw plenty of interest from teams, and he could help put a potential trade package over the top if the Blue Jays get in a bidding war.
Peyton Williams
While Williams (a.k.a the Iowa Meat Truck) is a great story, there may not be a place for him in the organization after the team signed Guerrero to that long-term extension. MLB Pipeline has him as the No. 28 prospect in Toronto's system, but his future is clearly as a first baseman/designated hitter, which likely puts a limit on how much he can help the Blue Jays in the future.

He's also off to a slow start this year. He's hitting just .176 through 32 games so far this year and he has a disastrous 33.6% strikeout rate. His value is always going to be in his power, but he's not putting the ball in play enough to make an impact.
His power potential could entice a team to take him off the Blue Jays' hands.
Jace Bohrofen
Last up is Bohrofen, the No. 23 prospect in the organization, per MLB Pipeline. He's coming off a strong 2024, but is off to a slower start. That said, he has all the tools that opposing clubs could covet in a prospect

Bohrofen is currently batting .204 (22-for-108) with five home runs and 16 RBI. He has also stolen two bases and has a wRC+ of 97. He's had an issue with strikeouts this year (33.3% strikeout rate), but he has all the tools needed to succeed in MLB.
