MIAMI, FL – JULY 09: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. /

The Blue Jays Minor League teams pick up the action for a new season on Thursday. With a newly rejuvenated and talented organization, the Blue Jays have a plethora of talent sprinkled throughout. We are going to give you a preview of each level from Triple-A Buffalo all the way to Single-A with the mighty Lansing Lugnuts.

First, let us talk about the Top Prospects. Heading into this season the Toronto Blue Jays have one of the better Minor League systems in baseball. The Jays are ranked as the #9 system in baseball according to Baseball America. This high praise comes after a rough season for the big club and has many fans chomping at the bit for the future. The presence of top prospects that landed in the MLB Top 100 Prospects Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Anthony Alford has many excited.

The biggest shock for Blue Jays fans may be how quick the Jays brass filled up the cupboards with talent. Alex Anthopoulos famously traded the farm to get the Jays into the 2015 Playoffs. The effects of that trade pushed them to back to back playoff performances, but the Jays came up short in the ALCS both times. Flashing forward to 2018 we are right back in the top talented Minor League systems, which is no small feat.

As for us here at Jay Journal, we compiled our Top 30 Prospects list prior to Spring Training. We will be referring to all of these names throughout this MiLB Preview so here is a link to the quick list summary
