Blue Jays transactions and injury updates aplenty
As the Toronto Blue Jays geared up for their contest in Cleveland there was a flurry of roster moves and injury updates involving the club.
Sanchez To The DL
Pitcher Aaron Sanchez and his losing battle with blisters was placed on the disabled list earlier in the day. This will be the fourth time this season that Sanchez has been derailed with blister issues. There is no immediate timeline for the hurler but he is confident he will be back before the conclusion of the season.
Stroman Battling Blister
Speaking of blisters Marcus Stroman appears to be battling a blister or hot spot issue on his finger in tonight’s outing. Stroman is unable to throw his slider in just another chapter of the “Juiced Ball Blister” saga of 2017.
Tulo Has A Wonky Groin
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was absent for the game with what is being described as a groin injury. The 32-years is struggling this season slashing .251/.299/.383 and is considered day to day as Ryan Goins subbing in for him versus the Indians.
Smith Returns
Reliever Joe Smith was activated from the DL and is available out the Blue Jays bullpen. Smith was having a nice season prior to the shoulder inflammation pitching to the tune of a 3.41 earned run average in 34 appearances.
