Dunedin Blue Jays vs Clearwater Threshers (loss 0-7)

A rough start to the game was too big of a hole for the Dunedin Blue Jays to climb out of.  Justin Shafer just could not find a way to get Thresher hitters out.  A first inning 2 run homer by Kyle Martin got the Threshers going.  Things did not get much easier in the 2nd as the Threshers went on to string 3 more runs together.

Shafer would stay in for 4 total innings of work allowing 7 hits for 5 earned runs.  He would only walk one batter and collect a strikeout.  Jose Fernandez cam on and started off well.  The Threshers would find a way to score 2 more runs off of Fernandez to push the score to 7-0 Threshers.  Chris Rowley would come on and finally stop the bleeding over the last 2.1 innings.

Next: Jose up for a position change and negotiating?

Pitching Grade: D

The offense was on life support for the game.  The D-Jays only collected 3 hits and 3 walks during the game.  Sunday the Threshers put on a pitching clinic and walked all over the D-Jays offense.  The Thresher bullpen only allowed one base runner through 3.2 innings of work.
