Burlington 2

Bluefield earned the only W in the system thanks to a strong performance by Miguel Burgos on the mound. Miguel allowed a home run, 2 runs, 2 walks and 5 hits in 6 innings. Burgos K’ed 4 and improved to 1-2 with a 3.48ERA with the win. Zak Wasilewski allowed on hit in his 2 innings of relief. Jackson Lowery followed with a scoreless 9th.

At the dish, the Jays had 5 hits, no walks, and one extra base hit. Christian Williams hit a triple and drove in 2 runs as part of a 4 run 6th. Freddy Rodriguez drove in the clubs other run ahead of the triple.

The Sox came from behind to take the first game of the best-of-three series. The Jays were up 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 9th, but Mike Estevez allowed 2 runs (1 earned) in 1.1 IP. Starter Denis Diaz allowed one run on 5 hits, while striking out 4 in 5.0 IP. Nate Abel held the Sox off the board in his 2.1 IP.

Nash Knight and Juandy Mendoza each had a pair of hits, with Mendoza collecting the clubs only run. Lance Thomas and Knight each had doubles, and Reggie Pruitt was 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
