Not a good day for the Toronto Blue Jays farm, as the Bluefield Blue Jays were the only victorious team in the system on August 31st, 2015. The D-Jays were rained out, and the other teams struggled on the mound. Top performers were Josh Almonte, Nash Knight, Dwight Smith Jr, Danny Barnes, Jack Murphy, and Miguel Burgos.

Outhit 12-9, the Bisons fell to 67-70 after allowing 4 runs in the 7th. The Herd held a 4-2 lead heading into the 7th, but Scott Copeland (11-5, 2.78 ERA) allowed leadoff man Ben Gamel to hit his 10th home run and push the RailRiders ahead. Copeland allowed 6 runs on 11 hits over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 long balls and struck out 2. Greg Burke and Colt Hynes struggled with their control, allowing a combined 5 walks in 2 innings of relief. Bobby Korecky got the last two outs on one pitch.
At the plate the Herd weren’t able to score until the 4th, already down 2-0. They scored one in the 4th and 5th, before knocking in 2 in the 6th, but then the bats fell silent. Andy Burns and George Kottaras both collected a pair of hits. Danny Dorn, Ryan Schimpf, Caleb Gindl and Burns each hit doubles. Schimpf drove in 2 with Jonathan Diaz and Dorn knocking in the other two runs.

Luis Perez allowed 4 runs in 5 innings. Danny Barnes followed Perez with 3 no-hit innings, while striking out 5. Gergory Infante blow the save and took the loss, allowing 5 runs before getting out of the inning.
the Fisher Cats scored 2 in the 2nd, one in the 6th and 3 more in the 8th. Roemon Fields went hitless, but managed a run, a stolen base, and a walk. K.C. Hobson and Jack Murphy each drove in a pair. Derrick Chung was 1/2 with a run, a double, and 2 walks. Dwight Smith Jr had 2 hits, 2 runs, a double and walk.

The Lugnuts were unable to capitalized on the hits (outing the TinCaps 15-14) or the defense (4 errors for the TinCaps). Tom Robson held the TinCaps scoreless through 2 innings, only managed to get 2 batters out in the 3rd before being pulled in favor of Robson. Mark Biggs followed Robson with 4 runs in 2.1 IP. Jose Fernandez struck out 4 and held Fort Wayne to two hits, no runs, in 2.1 IP. Phil Kish couldn’t hold the lead with 3 runs on 5 hits in 8th and 9th.
Josh Almonte drove in 2 runs on 4 hits. Josh fell a home run shy of the cycle. Chris Carlson, Richard Urena, Jason Leblebijian , D.J.Davis, and Micheal De La Cruz each collected 2 hits. Leblebijian drove in 2 runs and hit his 17th double.
