Buffalo Bisons vs Syracuse Chiefs (Win 4-3)

A big first inning proved to be enough for the Bisons against the Chiefs.  Dalton Pompey got things going out of the lead off spot with a walk and eventually came around to score on a Matt Hague single.  Caleb Gindl then tripled to score Hague and Berti to make the score 3-1 Bisons.  Andy Burns then reached on an error which allowed Gindl to score the 4th run.  This would unfortunately be the end of the scoring for the Bisons.

The early lead would be enough for Daniel Norris and company to work with.  Norris was able to scatter 8 hits and 2 walks to only allow 2 earned runs over 5.1 innings.  The rest of the pitchers kept things going well as they kept the Chiefs from doing to much damage.  Bobby Korecky almost let things come undone in the 9th.  He allowed 3 hits and luckily only allowed the 1 run before he finally locked the game down.

Line of the game

Caleb Gindl 1-3 with a triple, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI

New Hampshire Fisher Cats @ Harris Senators (Loss 0-13)

The Fisher Cats get blown out and miss out on the sweep against the Senators.  The pitching just could not get things going.  The flood gates were opened in the 2nd innings as Taylor Cole got rocked for 3 runs in the inning.  The bleeding would not stop there for Cole.  The 3rd inning would prove to be just as difficult as he gave up another 3 runs.  Cole’s final line would be 9 hits and 6 runs allowed over 3 innings.  Luis Perez came on to tried to stop the bleeding but also gave up a pair of runs on oddly just 1 hit over 2.2 innings.  The 1 hit was a home run allowed to Cutter Dykstra who also went 5-5 during the game.  Scott Burns came on and could not keep it together.  He gave up a 5 spot in the 7th and only recorded 1 out in the inning.

Roemon Fields was a bright spot for the Fisher Cats.  He collected 2 of the 6 total Cat hits and stole 2 bases.  Other then Fields the Cats were not able to collect any offense a solid pitching performance by the Senators.  Richard Bleier held the Cats scoreless through 7 innings and handed the ball off to the bullpen which continued where he left off.

Line of the game

Roemon Fields 2-4 with 2 stolen bases

Dunedin Blue Jays vs Bradenton Marauders (loss 5-8)

This game looked to be going the way of the D-Jays but was stolen late by the Marauders.  Jeremy Gabryszwski got off to a great start but lost it in the 5th inning.  The rest of the Marauder comeback was allowed by the bullpen.  Alonzo Gonzalez and Arik Sikula allowed 2 runs each which allowed the possible victory to slip away.

Rowdy Tellez continues to be red hot as he collected another 4 hits and an RBI.  The offense collected plenty of hits but failed to capitalize with runners in scoring position.  The D-Jays went only 4-14 with runners in scoring position.  Mike Reeves was able to make due with his opportunities.  He went 2 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI’s.  Richard Urena also went 3-5 with an RBI

Line of the game

Mike Reeves 2-2 with a double, 2 walks, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI

Rowdy Tellez 4-5 with a stolen base and an RBI

More from Toronto Blue Jays Prospects

Starlyn Suriel was able to stop the Hot Rods in their tracks Wednesday.  Suriel was able to scatter 9 hits and a walk to hold the Rods to 2 runs.  He pitched a solid 7 innings and stuck out 6.  Phil Kish came on and closed the door over the past 2 innings to pick up the save.  The solid effort allowed the Lugnut offense to scrap together just enough offense to win.  Alex Maldonado and David Harris collected 2 hits, a double, and an RBI each.  The Lugnut attack proved to be enough as they supported an excellent pitching performance.

Line of the game

Starlyn Suriel 7 IP, 9 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, and 6 strike outs

Vancouver Canadians vs Eugene Emeralds (Win 4-2)

More from Toronto Blue Jays Prospects

Jonathan Harris got off to a rocky start after allowing a pair of runs in the 2nd inning.  The big blow was a 2-run home run off the bat of Matt Rose.  He was pulled in the 3rd inning and the bullpen ran away with it.  The bullpen only allowed 3 hits over the rest of the game.  The pen stabilized the game for the Canadians.  Some misplays by the Emeralds paved the way for 3 of the 4 runs.  The Canadians made life hard for the opposing pitchers as the stole 3 bases on 4 attempts.  The lone RBI was scored off the bat of Lane Thomas.

Line of the night

Canadians Bullpen 5.2 innings, 0 ER, 3 hits, and 2 strike outs
