The Rest of the Scores

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (26-26, 5th 5.5GB)

Boyd oh! Boyd. Matt Boyd only needed the one run, as the Fisher Cats win 1-0 on another dominating performance by Matt Boyd (W 5-1, 1.08 ERA). The only negative to take from Boyd’s outing were the number of fly ball outs. The left-hander in a flyball pitcher so this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but a 3-10 GO-AO ratio would be scary at the Rogers Centre.

More from Toronto Blue Jays Prospects

*Boyd leads the league in ERA, 66.2IP, 66K, 0.80WHIP

At the plate the Fisher Cats scored the games only run in the 3rd when Shane Opitz tripled with one out. Opitz came into score on a throwing error as Jorge Flores grounded out to 2nd. Dwight Smith Jr., Melky Mesa, Kevin Nolan and Cole Garner each collected singles.

Up Next: Jermey Gabryszwski vs Brevard County’s Eric Marzec

Lansing Lugnuts (31-21, 1st)

Lugnuts were unable to overcome an early hole by a shaky Shane Dawson and lost 6-3.

Shane Dawson (L 7-3, 2.91 ERA) winning his previous 5 starts got roughed up for 5 runs in the 3rd inning allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, despite striking out 6 and not issuing a walk. Dawson also committed 2 throwing errors.

Dusty Isaacs and Tim Mayza combined to throw 6 scoreless innings and 1 hit, while striking out 8.

At the dish Tim Locastro continues to make an impact at the bottom of the Lugnuts batting order with 3 hits and his league leading 26th stolen base in the losing cause.

Ryan McBroom hit his 16th double which puts him one behind Ross Kivett for the league lead. Rowdy Tellez drove in his 41st RBI and that leads the league as well. This offence is fun to watch, but it is just a matter of time before these guys start getting promoted.
