Buffalo Bisons vs Indianapolis Indians (Loss 4-8)

Randy Wolf got roughed up to the tune of 6 runs in 2.2 innings.  Wolf has been nothing but dominate so far this season in Buffalo but finally fell back toward earth from the stratosphere.  6 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks will not keep you in games.  I have enjoyed watching Randy Wolf’s resurgence but have been wondering when all the base runners were going to catch up to him.  The difference this season for him and last night was the ability to work out of trouble.  Last night he was unable to work his way out the issues.

After Wolf was chased from the game the bullpen came on and crushed the Indians lineup.  Chad Jenkins, Jeff Francis, and Colt Hynes combined to keep the Indians off the board the rest of the game.  Jenkins came in and stomped out the fire that was the Indians lineup. Jeff Francis came on and shined as he struck out 3 in 3 innings and only allowed 2 hits.  To close out the game Hynes struck out the side in his one inning of work.

On offense Chris Dickerson raked in 2 RBI’s to lead the Bison attack.  Andy Burns collected 4 hits and an RBI also.  Recent free agent signing Luke Scott continued to hit the ball hard.  He collected a double, and RBI, and went 3-4.  After the bullpen did such a great job of keeping the Herd in the game it is a shame the offense could not pick it up and work toward the win.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats vs Altoona Curve (Loss 4-9)

Fisher Cat pitching got hit around hard.  They allowed 18 hits were allowed and that included 3 home runs.  Taylor Cole had a rough outing and allowed the bulk of offense to the Curve.  He got knocked around for 11 hits and 5 earned runs.  After Cole trudged through 5 innings the bullpen did not fair much better.  Scott Barnes came on and allowed 3 runs on 2 home runs.  John Kuchno pitched the 9th and did not allow a run.

Offensively the Cats played well but just could not match the output of the Curve.  The Cats collected 13 hits which included a home run by Daric Barton.  Shane Optiz went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored.  K.C. Hobson also collected a pair of doubles and scored a run.  Ian Parmley collected 2 RBI’s in the 9 hole on 2 hits.  The offense played well and the pitching faltered which lead to the loss.

Dunedin Blue Jays vs St. Lucie Mets (Loss 7-4)

The hit parade against Jays minor league pitching continues as the D-Jays got blasted for 15 hits.  Justin Shafer thought things were going to go well after a good first inning but in the second he got tagged for 3 runs.  His struggles would continue and ended up allowing 6 runs (3 of them earned) and was taken out.  Jeremy Gabryszwski came on and pitched 3 innings and allowed only 1 run.  The bullpen kept the Mets at 7 runs for the remainder of the game.

The D-jays offense awakened in the 7th and scored 3 runs.  They would score another run in the 8th but would not score anymore.  They were unable to keep the comeback alive as the Mets pen closed the door.  Derrick Loveless had a stellar showing and went 3-4 with a pair of RBI.  The entire D-Jays collected at least 1 hit with the only exception being catcher Jorge Saez.  The 7 runs were just to much for the D-Jays to over come with a solid pitching turn out by the Mets.
