It's always important for an MLB team to have minor league depth that it can turn to in case of injury or underperformance on the major league roster.

And while the Blue Jays minor league system is a little light on MLB-ready talent, they still have some quality minor leaguers who could make an impact at the big league level this year.

Although the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster is set, roster turnover is a daily occurrence in MLB, which means we could see some Blue Jays minor leaguers sooner rather than later.

Here are the three Blue Jays minor leaguers who we think could earn the team's first call-up.

Which Blue Jays minor leaguers could be called up first?

Jake Bloss

Bloss showed his stuff this year in the Blue Jays' Spring Breakout game, where he surrendered just one hit in two innings with four strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Minnesota.

While Bloss struggled a bit this spring, he ended his time in big league camp with three scoreless innings against his former team, the Houston Astros. Bloss is a solid depth option in Toronto's rotation.

Orelvis Martinez

Martinez played well in camp, as evidenced by his .333/.407/.500 slash line with a home run and 140 wRC+. He entered camp with a spot to earn a bench spot, but was optioned to Triple-A on March 20th along with Bloss, Jonatan Clase, Dillon Tate, and Josh Walker. Martinez only appeared in one game last season before being suspended for 80 games for testing positive for PED use.

Martinez still isn't a complete product in the field and he'll need to work on his defensive skills in Triple-A, but if an infielder gets injured, he'll be the first player they turn to.

Mason Fluharty

Fluharty is one of the most intriguing relievers in Toronto's system.

He dazzled in spring training with a 1.29 ERA with 11 strikeouts and has proven to be effective against left-handed batters.

He's going to be a key contributor for the Blue Jays in the future thanks to a strong fastball paired with a solid sweeper. He'll get a chance to make his mark in Toronto at some point this summer.
