The Toronto Blue Jays are hoping to have a bounce-back season after a tough showing last year that resulted in them missing the postseason and some fans subsequently having serious questions about the future of the franchise.

While their aggressive start to the offseason ended up being for naught after they missed out on Juan Soto, Roki Sasaki, Corbin Burnes, and Pete Alonso, the Blue Jays were able to improve their roster with the additions of Anthony Santander, Jeff Hoffman, and more. But even with those additions, there's no player on the roster more important than Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Guerrero, 25, has been a superstar since the moment he debuted for the Blue Jays, though his time with the club could be coming to an end soon after he and the team failed to agree on a contract extension.

But even with most of the conversation around Guerrero focusing on things off the field, there's no denying that he's one of the top players in baseball right now. Though, according to MLB Network, he's not a top 10 player in MLB.

Blue Jays’ Guerrero Jr. listed in surprisingly strong in MLB Network’s list

MLB Network released their annual Top 100 player list last week, with Guerrero finishing at 13th. The list is determined by MLB Network’s production and research team.

He was just behind Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal and Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper, and just ahead of Cubs right fielder Kyle Tucker and Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, putting him in some elite company.

The finish marked a 39 spot jump for Guerrero, who finished in 52nd in 2024's iteration of the rankings.

The only other Blue Jay to make the list was Anthony Santander, who came in 53rd. That finish marked a 33 spot improvement over his 85th place finish in 2024. Santander's strong showing in 2024 is the biggest reason why the Blue Jays signed him to a five-year contract in the offseason.

Shohei Ohtani came in first place (to no surprise), with Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, Yordan Alvarez, Freddie Freeman, José Ramírez and Gunnar Henderson rounding out the top-10.

That list shows have much of an uphill climb this season will be for the Blue Jays, as two of the top 10 players in baseball (per MLB Network) also play in the American League East.

They'll get to see one of those players early when they open the season on March 27 with a four-game series against Henderson and the Blue Jays.
