Don't let the Toronto Blue Jays get hot.

While spring training stats don't matter in the grand scheme of things, every team would rather win its (meaningless) spring training games than lose them. The Blue Jays will look to continue their torrid start to spring training today when they take on the Houston Astros in an away game.

First pitch is set for 6:07 p.m. from CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida. The game won't be broadcast on TV or radio, but it can be followed on MLB Gameday.

Probable starting pitchers

RHP Yariel Rodríguez (1-0, 12.00 ERA, 7 K) vs. Hayden Wesneski (0-0, 1.42 ERA, 11 K)

Rodríguez is making another spring start despite his future likely being the bullpen.

The Blue Jays' rotation seems set with Chris Bassit, Kevin Gausman, José Berríos, Max Scherxer and Bowden Francis, but that doesn't mean that Rodríguez can't make an impact this season.

He's been stretched out as a starter this spring and could work as a swingman out of the bullpen, or he could tighten his focus and work as a one-inning reliever like when he pitched in Japan.

He's allowed multiple runs in every outing this spring, and is coming off an outing where he two earned runs in three innings.

Wesneski is entering his first season with the Astros after the team acquired him from the Cubs in the offseason in the Kyle Tucker trade. He had a 3.86 ERA in 28 games (seven starts) with the Cubs last year, but he's getting work as a starter this spring.

He's coming off a start where he allowed one earned run in 2 1/3 innings against the Yankees.

Toronto Blue Jays starting lineup, March 13

1. 1B Will Wagner
2. DH Davis Schneider
3. RF Anthony Santander
4. 2B Andrés Giménez
5. 3B Ernie Clement
6. LF Joey Loperfido
7. C Tyler Heineman
8. CF Nathan Lukes
9. SS Leo Jiménez

Houston Astros starting lineup, March 13

1. 3B Isaac Paredes
2. DH Ben Gamel
3. C Yainer Diaz
4. 1B Zach Dezenzo
5. CF Chas McCormick
6. RF Quincy Hamilton
7. SS Mauricio Dubón
8. 2B Luis Guillorme
9. LF Colin Barber

The Blue Jays are going with a bit of an unconventional lineup today with most of the regulars out.

Anthony Santander will continue to get more work after he got a late start to spring, while Andrés Giménez is batting in the cleaup spot as he continues to acclimate to Toronto.

It'll be interesting to see if any of Loperfido, Heineman, Lukes and Jiménez are able to take advantage of the playing time since they're all squarely on the roster bubble.
