4. ALCS Game 7: 4-3 win vs. the Seattle Mariners
The Blue Jays trailed the Mariners 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning. The hopes of a first World Series appearance in 32 years were dwindling. That was until George Springer hit a three-run home run to give the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead.
It had been a tough road for Springer leading up to his epic home run. He left Game 5 after he was hit in the knee by a 96 mph pitch. He played in Game 6, but his discomfort was evident. Springer's knee didn't seem to bother him at all as he leapt down the first base line. The Blue Jays have had some legendary home runs throughout franchise history. Like Joe Carter and Jose Bautista, Springer created a moment that Blue Jays fans will remember forever.
3. World Series Game 6: 3-1 loss vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Blue Jays had a chance to win their first World Series in 32 years at home on Halloween. They were down 3-1 in the ninth inning of Game 6 against the defending champion Dodgers. Barger hit the ball deep to centre field. Myles Straw came in to score from first base. Barger followed behind him. Blue Jays fans cheered, believing the game had been tied by an inside-the-park home run.
But there was one problem: the ball Barger had hit was lodged in the outfield wall. It was called a ground rule double, leaving the score 3-1. The Blue Jays were still in a good position; Barger was on second, Straw was on third with no outs. Ernie Clement popped out. Andrés Giménez hit a pop fly to left field, which was caught by Kiké Hernandez. Hernandez's throw to Miguel Rojas at second base was in time to double up Barger, sending the World Series to Game 7.
