Last season, the Toronto Blue Jays' season never got off the ground due to injuries and underperformance. This season, the Blue Jays seem set to be contenders after a busy offseason.
And while their the offseason additions will likely have a large impact, they'll also need some players to step things up. Three players who seemed set for bounce-back seasons are Bo Bichette, Alejandro Kirk, and Daulton Varsho.
All three sported an OPS+ of under 100 last season, but have a track record of being key contributors on successful teams.
Three Blue Jays players expected to have rebound seasons

Bichette's shown us time and time again that he's a guy that the Blue Jays can count on, even if he struggled through 2024. He led the American League in hits in 2021 (191) and 2022 (189), and is one of the best hitters in baseball when healthy.
While Bichette still has to prove himself this season, he seems set to rebound after last season.
“I’ve moved on from it, and I’m looking forward to this season," Bichette told the Toronto Sun's Rob Langley. "I’m in a great place to go out there and compete and enjoy the game and try and help the team win.”

A Gold Glove winner last season, we know that Varsho's glove is one of baseball's best. But we also know that he has more to offer with his bat. While Varsho will start the season on the injured list after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, he should be back by April.
And when he does get back, he should make an immediate impact. He smashed four home runs in the spring and seems to have found his power stroke.
Varsho smashed a career-high 27 home runs with Arizona prior to being traded to Toronto and, if he can find that power stroke, he could end up being a key offensive cog for this team.

OFFICIAL: We’ve agreed to terms with C Alejandro Kirk on a 5-year contract extension! pic.twitter.com/JsE4Icekfy
Alejandro Kirk showed offense in spurts last year, but he wasn't nearly the player he was in 2022 when he won his first career Silver Slugger.
He when 13-for-42 (.309) with two home runs and eight RBI this spring and signed a five-year extension earlier this week, so it's clear that he's a player the Blue Jays view at a part of the future.
But at the end of the day, any offense from Kirk should be considered a bonus. He's one of the best defensive catchers in baseball (93rd percentile in framing) and is a clubhouse leader. But for the Blue Jays to be true contenders this season, they'll need him to recapture his Silver Slugger form.
