A first-round pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, Pratto made his MLB debut in 2022 but seems to have been lapsed in the Blue Jays organization. He played in 95 games in 2023 and finished the year with seven home run and 35 RBI with a .232 batting average. He didn't appear in MLB in 2024.

The biggest problem from Pratto has been the swing and miss. He has a 30 percent strikeout rate in four Triple-A seasons and struck out in 45 percent of his MLB at-bats in 2023.

While he's played the outfield a bit in his career, he's primarily a first baseman. Kansas City has Vinnie Pasquantino, Salvador Perez and Jonathan India as first base/DH options, so Pratto doesn't have a clear path to MLB playing time with the Royals.

The Blue Jays will likely mix and match at first base behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr., but Pratto would stand out among those options if he's brought into the fold.
