The Toronto Blue Jays are entering an incredibly important month of June. The Blue Jays were sitting at a 29-31 record heading into Tuesday's game (Jun. 2) and are third in the American League East. They are also tied with the Texas Rangers for the final wild card spot in the American League, so there is no question that the Blue Jays need to pile up as many wins as they can this month to help keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Blue Jays are also entering the new month with multiple players on the verge of setting new impressive career milestones. Blue Jays' stars George Springer, Kevin Gausman, Dylan Cease, and Max Scherzer are all incredibly close to hitting some significant career markers.

These milestones will be significant to each Blue Jays' player

Springer has two milestones that fans should be keeping an eye on. The 36-year-old needs just two home runs to reach 300 in his career. He also needs to score two more runs to reach 1,000.

Gausman is just 20 innings pitched away from reaching 2,000 career innings pitched. This will undoubtedly be a big milestone for the 14-year veteran to reach, and there is a good chance he will if he stays healthy this month. Going into his start last night, Gausman had thrown 69 innings in 12 starts. He threw 40.2 innings in Mar./Apr. and 28.1 in May.

When Cease returns from the injured list to make his next start, it will be the 200th of his major league career. The 30-year righty has been off to a nice start to his Blue Jays tenure this year. In 11 starts so far this season, he has a 3-3 record, a 3.05 ERA, and 92 strikeouts. Cease is currently recovering from a mild left hamstring strain, but is slated to pitch on Thursday (Jun. 4) in Buffalo.

As for Scherzer, he is just one strikeout away from the 3,500th of his major league career. He is also 18.1 innings pitched away from reaching 3,000 career innings pitched. The 41-year-old last pitched for Toronto on April 24 due to injury but recently pitched three scoreless innings in his first rehab appearance for Triple-A Buffalo.

With the Blue Jays having so many players nearing impressive milestones, June has the potential to be an exciting month for the American League East club. These are all achievable milestones for each player, but also very impressive ones and it's always a great nod for a franchise to have players accomplish these feats while wearing their jersey.

More importantly than the individual chases though is the team as a whole trying to get over the .500 mark. After the Blue Jays play their series against the Braves they will also face the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and New York Mets this month.

This is arguably their toughest stretch of the schedule to date and if the Blue Jays are going to get into the postseason this could be the make or break month. With these veterans chasing these milestones, that could be an added layer of motivation for themselves, and their teammates to kick it in to high gear.
