The Toronto Blue Jays have been lighting things up offensively lately and it is helping them remain in second place. As a whole, this team is heating up at the right time and there are a few players that really need this June to build up their seasons.
Not that all of these players are doing bad, just that some could really use this month to to take their game to the next level. Some have been below average and raising their stock could be the difference between staying on the roster or being DFA'd. Here are three Blue Jays who need this month to get their season on the right track.
These three Blue Jays need to perform in June to save their 2025 season.
Ernie Clement

Ernie Clement has been one of the hottest hitters in the lineup recently and now that June is here, he is not slowing down. But with Andres Gimenez back from the injured list, it is tougher to find a spot in the lineup for Clement.
Toronto needs to find a way to keep Clement in the lineup. He finished May with an .818 OPS, along with three home runs and 12 RBI. Clement is up to 102 wRC+ and just a 12.9% strikeout rate overall in 2025.
Clement is showing a great approach at the plate right now and if he continues to battle this month, then he could go from utility player to a regular starter. He deserves to be in the lineup daily and a strong June could do that for him.
Chad Green

Chad Green is one of the arms in the bullpen that really needs to get going for Toronto. His overall numbers on the season are not terrible, but they aren't great either. The Blue Jays need Green to turn into a reliable arm in the bullpen for the rest of the season and June is a great month for him to show his worth, prior to the Trade Deadline.
Green currently has an ERA of 3.76, which is good, but his xERA is up to 5.86. Additionally, his FIP is up to 5.54, while his xFIP is down to a 3.99. He has gotten extremely lucky this season and if he doesn't stop allowing hard hits, he could really fall into DFA territory.
There is some speculation about Toronto dealing him at the trade deadline and while bullpen is not their biggest hole, dealing from this group would be tough. The Blue Jays need Green to stay a reliable reliever and not let these expected numbers come back to bite him.
Andrés Giménez

Andres Gimenez was a big pickup in the offseason and got off to an incredible start to the season, but since then he has cooled off. He also landed on the injured list and just recently returned. Perhaps there is a chance that along with his improved health, the Blue Jays will also see a healthy increase in his offensive game.
He is 3-9 in three games since returning to the team (going into Saturday's contest against Minnesota), and has yet to strike out, while drawing two walks. This is an encouraging sign as Gimenez looked like he was getting hot prior to getting injured. He was on a five game hitting streak and hasn't struck out in a game since April 30. Hopefully he can use his recent games to move his wRC+ over 70 and get an OPS over .600.
For as much as Gimenez is paid, he needs to be more of an impact player. He has found a little success in stretches in Toronto and now that he is healthy, that needs to be more consistent and June is the perfect month to start.
