5. Game 6: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ties franchise record for postseason home runs: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has definitely been the best player for the Blue Jays during the postseason and arguably the best player for any of the team this October. He leads MLB in the postseason in hits (19), RBIs (12), and runs (11).
In Game 6 of the ALCS, Guerrero hit his sixth home run of the postseason. He is now tied with Joe Carter and Jose Bautista for the most home runs in Blue Jays postseason history. Guerrero's solo shot extended the Blue Jays' lead in Game 6 to 5-0.
Guerrero added another run in the seventh inning. After a wild pitch by Matt Brash, Guerrero stole third base. Cal Raleigh made an error on the throw to Suarez at third, allowing Guerrero to come in to score. In the postseason, the stars need to come through, and Guerrero has done just that. After Game 7, he was named the ALCS MVP.
4. Game 3 and 4: Andrés Giménez hits a two-run homer: The Blue Jays went to Seattle with their backs against the wall after dropping the first two games of the ALCS at home. In the bottom of the first inning in Game 3, Rodríguez hit a two-run home run to put Toronto on the back foot early.
Andrés Giménez was 0 for 6 in the first two games of the series. He came to the plate in the third inning with a runner on second after an Ernie Clement double. Giménez hit a two-run shot to centre field to tie the game, and that was just the beginning.
The Blue Jays scored three more runs in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead. Giménez was the first of five Blue Jays to go long in Game 3. George Springer, Guerrero, Alejandro Kirk, and Barger also hit home runs in the 13-4 win.
Giménez came up big for the Blue Jays again in Game 4. Josh Naylor hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to open the scoring. Once again, Giménez came to the plate at the top of the third with a man on second.
This time, it was Isaiah Kiner-Falefa who doubled to open the inning. Just like in Game 3, Giménez hit a two-run home run. The Jays took the lead and never looked back, eventually winning 8-2.
