The Toronto Blue Jays are in the midst of their most successful stretch since 2015. They are coming off a ten-game win streak, their longest since they won 11 in a row during the 2015 season. Toronto also set a new franchise record for wins before the All-Star break with 54 . The Blue Jays are one of the hottest teams in baseball and relief pitcher Braydon Fisher is one of the hottest rookies in MLB.

Fisher made his major league debut with the Blue Jays on May 11th against the Seattle Mariners. At the time, Toronto sat third in the American League East, three games back of the leading New York Yankees. Fisher faced three batters in the ninth inning, giving up one hit but no runs en route to a 9-1 Blue Jays win.

In his 25 appearances, Fisher has been a consistent bright spot for the Blue Jays, only giving upp seven runs. Five of those runs were during his lone start on May 31st against the Athletics. Toronto still managed to win that game 8-7. The only other runs he gave up were against the Yankees on July 3rd, a game which Toronto won 8-5. In 27 innings pitched, 25 have been scoreless. Fisher also has the highest strikeout to walk ration among the Blue Jays pitchers at 5.14.

Fisher is yet to be mentioned among the favourites for the AL Rookie of the Year award. However, there's no doubt that his MLB career is off to a flying start. The race for the AL's best newcomer is tough, with competition from the Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson and first baseman Nick Kurtz as well as the Houston Astros right fielder Cam Smith.

Fisher came to the Blue Jays organization in June of 2024 in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers for Cavan Biggio. At the time, Fisher was in double-A. A little over a year later, he's been a key part of a Blue Jays team that having success it hasn't had in a decade. Two months after Fisher made his MLB debut, the Blue Jays sit atop the AL East leaderboard.
