Watch ex-Blue Jays catcher ask absurdly ignorant question to Davis Schneider

Oh, the irony.

It seems that the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans will forever be disrespected by national media members. Kicking off the 2023-24 offseason, multiple national writers said Shohei Ohtani landing with the Jays would be "bad for baseball", but him signing with the new evil empire Dodgers was just fine.

Now, the Foul Territory Podcast - one made up of ex-big leaguers like AJ Pierzynski, Adam Jones, Todd Frazier, Jason Kipnis and Erik Kratz - is questioning Davis Schneider essentially about how dumb Blue Jays fans are.

No, really. See for yourself.

Kratz, an 11-year MLB veteran who had three separate stints on the Blue Jays (2002-2008, 2014, 2016) asked Schneider on the podcast whether Blue Jays fans, who don't really know baseball all that well, ever repeatedly ask him annoying questions.

Oh, the irony.

"Hey are you related to Schneids?", was the main question Kratz floated, alluding to Davis's relationship (or in this case, non-relationship) to Jays manager John Schneider. It is hilarious that Kratz followed up a completely unnecessary and downright disrespectful comment with one of the most unintelligent questions you can ask a professional baseball player.

We're not here to make fun of anybody or bring anybody down, but there's a certain amount of humor in a longtime catcher who hit just .209 with a -0.1 bWAR finding a way to insult fans of a team he played for for years. Heck, the Jays are the team that first drafted him in the 29th round of the 2002 MLB Draft way back when.

As you can imagine, Blue Jays Twitter has been having a field day with this. Multiple people have shared posts saying things like, "Hey Kratz, how many innings are in a baseball game? I don't know the game very well", which adds even more humor to this ridiculous occurrence.

The Foul Territory Podcast seems to be one that prides themselves on being able to say what they want when they want. This, however, was one they should've just sat out on.
