Entering Saturday's contest against the Washington Nationals, the Toronto Blue Jays are sporting a three-game losing streak and are currently tied for last place in the American League East. Desperate for an offensive surge, the club is sending a much different looking lineup to play today.

In case you missed it: the Blue Jays activated Kevin Kiermaier from the injured list and optioned Nathan Lukes to Triple-A Buffalo.

Probable starting pitchers

  • The Blue Jays will send right-hander Kevin Gausman to the mound to make his seventh start of the year. The 33-year-old got off to a bit of an un-Gausman-like start to the year but has began turning his fortunes around in his last three outings. He has three consecutive outings of five innings and one run or less under his belt, including a seven-inning performance last time around versus the Dodgers.
  • 27-year-old Jake Irvin will make his seventh start of the year and 30th of his big league career in this evening's contest. The right-hander has a 4.28 ERA, 3.37 FIP and 93 ERA+ with 26 strikeouts and seven walks across 33.2 innings of work this year.
