Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Seattle Mariners, April 10
Ernie Clement has been freed from purgatory!
The Toronto Blue Jays enter Wednesday's action winners of two straight for the first time this season. Outscoring the Seattle Mariners 10-5 over the last few nights, the Jays are eyeing a cool three-game sweep over the AL West hopefuls before an off-day Thursday.
Probable starting pitchers
- Taking the mound for the Blue Jays will be left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, who's making his third start of the season. The 32-year-old has a 2.79 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 9.2 innings of work to kick off his 2024 and has continued to impress after an incredible showing last year. This will be his third appearance against the Mariners, who he spent the first three years of his career with. Seattle hitters are just 6-for-39 (.154) with an OPS+ of 9 against Kikuchi.
- Opposite Kikuchi will be Logan Gilbert, who is something of a co-ace for the Mariners with last night's starter, George Kirby. Gilbert, 26, is also going to be making his third start of the year. In 12.2 innings, he's got 15 strikeouts and just two walks to begin the 2024 campaign and almost always does an efficient job of keeping the opposition off the bases.
