The first two games of this Toronto Blue Jays-New York Yankees series has featured some of the hottest controversy in the game so far this year, and we're only halfway through the series. On Monday, Aaron Judge and Jake Bauers may or may not have stolen signs. On Tuesday, Domingo German was booted from the game after having way too much sticky stuff on his hands. Through it all, the Yankees have won both of the first two games and it's up to the Blue Jays, who will be without Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tonight, to tie the series over the next two nights.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Fresh off of the first nine-inning complete game shutout for the Blue Jays in eight years, Chris Bassitt is set to make the ninth start of his 2023 campaign. The right-hander has rebounded in a big way after a dreadful start for the Jays, posting two consecutive scoreless outings totaling 16 innings with 13 strikeouts. He has a 3.49 ERA and 122 ERA+ through 49 innings this season and has become one of the more reliable arms in this rotation recently.
  • Opposite Bassitt in Wednesday's contest will be Gerrit Cole for the Yankees. Cole, 32, has been off to a dominant start this season, going 5-0 with a 2.22 ERA and 195 ERA+ through nine outings and 56.2 innings on the mound. He remains one of the more lethal starters in the game and is going to represent one heck of a roadblock for a Blue Jays team looking to avoid a series loss.
