In an early-season series that's been full of action, the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees are set to square off for the third and final time in this series. So far, each team has won one game, with the Jays topping the Yankees 6-1 on Friday and the Yankees winning 3-2 in walkoff fashion on Saturday.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Kevin Gausman is set to make the fifth start of his 2023 campaign. So far, the right-hander has looked exceptional. In 24.2 innings of work, he has 30 strikeouts and five walks, posting an ERA of 3.65 and ERA+ of 121. The 32-year-old is coming off of an outing to forget (4.2 IP, 7 ER, 2 HR) against the Astros, but there's no reason why he can't bounce back in Sunday's game against the Yankees.
  • Taking the mound for the Yankees will be 27-year-old Clarke Schmidt. The righty was not expected to play a major role in the Yankees' rotation until a slew of injuries popped up and forced him into a spot. Through four starts and 14.1 innings, the results have not been pretty. Schmidt has allowed 14 earned runs on 22 hits, good for an 8.79 ERA, and has struggled keeping runners off the bases. Statistically speaking, he should be the easiest pitcher on the staff for the Blue Jays to jump all over.
