Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Minnesota Twins, May 27
Finally, the Toronto Blue Jays are back in the win column after what was beginning to feel like an endless losing streak. In Friday night's contest, it was a showing of the Kevins, as both Gausman (5.1 IP, 1 ER, 8 K) and Kiermaier (2-for-3, 3B, HR) helped carry the Jays to a 3-1 victory over the first-place Minnesota Twins.
Probable starting pitchers
- Chris Bassitt, who is quietly becoming one of the best starters on the Blue Jays, is set to make his 11th start of the 2023 campaign. The 34-year-old has been electric so far and has put together a four-start stretch in which he has gone over six innings. On the season, he is 5-3 with a 3.03 ERA and 137 ERA+ in just over 62 innings of work.
- Opposing Bassitt will be Pablo López, the Twins' biggest offseason acquisition. The 27-year-old has been advertised for his new club, making 10 starts with a 2-3 record. He has a 3.90 ERA, 3.62 FIP and 110 ERA+, all of which are in line with his typical production, giving the Twins exactly what they were looking for when they swung the trade for him.
