Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Minnesota Twins, May 10
At 17-20 to start the year, the Toronto Blue Jays are in last place in the American League East. The club is 7.5 games out of first place and are a game-and-a-half behind the fourth place Rays. It's been a tough start to the year for the Blue Jays, but John Schneider is switching up his starting lineup for Friday evening's contest in hopes of kickstarting something against a red-hot Minnesota Twins team.
Probable starting pitchers
- Taking on the Twins for the first game of this weekend series will be left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Through seven starts this year, he's been rocking solid, posting a 2.72 ERA with 43 strikeouts and only nine walks in 39.2 innings of work. The 32-year-old has continued to build off of a strong bounce-back last year and has gone six innings in each of his last five outings.
- Minnesota will send right-hander Joe Ryan to the mound to make his eighth start of the season. Ryan, 27, has sky-high potential and is a strikeout machine for the Twins. He's had no issues going six (or more) innings in his outings this year, too, and will surely give the Blue Jays fits in this 2023 Wild Card Series rematch.
