Coming off of a much-needed series victory over the Minnesota Twins and an equally-as-important off day on Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game set at the Rogers Centre. The Brewers are currently atop the NL Central at 28-25, with just one loss separating them from the Blue Jays in the win-loss record department.
Probable starting pitchers
- For the Blue Jays, left-hander Yusei Kikuchi is set to make his 11th start. The 32-year-old is in the midst of a comeback season for the Jays after struggling so mightily last year that he needed to be sent to the bullpen. While the overall numbers are so-so, he remains an improved pitcher who has shown multiple times this season that he's capable of returning to his pre-Blue Jays form. In 51+ innings so far, he has a 4.56 ERA and 90 ERA+ with 48 punchouts and 14 walks.
- Adrian Houser is in line to make his fifth start of the year for the Brewers in Tuesday's contest. The 30-year-old has dealt with injuries this year that have limited him a bit, but he has been a highly efficient starter when he's healthy. After a down year in 2022, Houser has rebounded so far with a 2.25 ERA, 3.14 FIP and 193 ERA+ through 20 innings this season.
