Toronto Blue Jays probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Milwaukee Brewers, June 12
After going 6-4 in their last 10 games, the Toronto Blue Jays are showing signs of life. The club remains 14 games behind the Yankees in the AL East, but they are now just one game under .500 and seem to be playing a looser style of ball as of late. Yet another promising rookie on the Brewers pitching staff stands in their way of a return to .500 and a series victory in this afternoon matchup.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Blue Jays traded Cavan Biggio to the Los Angeles Dodgers for a minor league pitcher. Read more about the deal here.
Probable starting pitchers
- For the Blue Jays, Chris Bassitt is set to make his 14th start of the season. Bassitt, 35, has been so-so at times this year, but his last five outings have all been strong ones. He's gone at least five innings in each of them (twice going seven or more) and has three consecutive outings of seven-strikeout ball. On the year, he's 6-6 with a 3.80 ERA, 3.86 FIP and 102 ERA+.
- 25-year-old Tobias Myers will start for the Brewers for the eighth time this year. The right-hander signed a minor league contract with Milwaukee back in November of 2022 and only just made his big league debut earlier this year. He's also struggled at times but he's also coming off of a dazzling eight-inning performance last time out in which he held the Tigers to just one base hit.
