Things went about as smoothly as they could go for the Toronto Blue Jays in Monday night's victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Not only did the Blue Jays get an outstanding performance from the just-promoted Will Wagner, but Bowden Francis went out and absolutely dominated - going seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts. The Jays look to make it two in a row against the Angels as they look to get as close to .500 ball as possible before the year's out.

Probable starting pitchers

  • For the Blue Jays, Kevin Gausman will be taking the mound to make his 24th start of the season. The right-hander had a dud of an outing against the Yankees two starts ago, but he bounced back with an eight-inning showing against the Orioles last time out. On the year, he's 10-8 with a 4.42 ERA, 4.15 FIP and 92 ERA+, which is well short of where he's been in recent years for the Blue Jays.
  • Opposite Gausman will be 30-year-old journeyman Carson Fulmer, who's set to make his 30th appearance and sixth start of the year. Fulmer, a former first-round pick by the White Sox back in the 2015 MLB Draft, has failed to capitalize on the mass amounts of hype surrounding him, but this year he seems to be finding a groove. The eight-year veteran has a 3.74 ERA, 4.38 FIP and 116 ERA+ across 67.1 innings of work.
