After pulling off an impressive offense-driven victory in Saturday's contest, the Toronto Blue Jays prepare to take on the last place Kansas City Royals for one last time in this late-season weekend matchup, this time with the possibility of a clean three-game sweep. Today's game is sure to be as good a pitching duel as any of them around the league, as one of the top trade deadline acquisitions takes the mound for the Royals against one of the Jays' many dangerous arms.

Probable starting pitchers

  • For the Blue Jays, José Berríos will be making his 29th start of the season. As times goes on, the right-hander continues to build off of a dreadful 2022 campaign and return closer to his ace-like level that he was once at with the Twins. All told, the 29-year-old is 9-10 with a 3.68 ERA, 4.24 FIP and 116 ERA+ in 164 innings of work.
  • Cole Ragans will take the mound for the Royals, making his 26th appearance of the year and ninth start. After coming over in a trade with the Rangers for Aroldis Chapman, the 25-year-old has been absolutely dominant for Kansas City, posting a miniscule 1.51 ERA with 63 strikeouts in just under 48 innings of work. His acquisition is shaping up to be one of the best the Royals have made in many, many years and he is sure to give the Blue Jays offense fits.
