Fresh off of a three-game sweep against the Chicago White Sox, the Toronto Blue Jays now travel to Detroit to take on another AL Central foe before the All-Star Break. The Tigers are 38-48 so far this season and despite the fact that they're 10 games under .500, they remain just six games back of the first-place Twins in the division.
Probable starting pitchers
- For the Blue Jays, right-hander Alek Manoah is set to make his triumphant return from a month-long stint in the minor leagues. The 25-year-old is 1-7 with a 6.36 ERA through 13 big league starts this year, but the hope is surely that his time away helped him find his swagger again. In his last outing against the Tigers back on April 11, Manoah went 4.1 innings with three strikeouts, five walks and three earned runs.
- The Tigers are set to send a right-hander of their own, Alex Faedo, out to the mound for tonight's matchup. This year, the 27-year-old has made five starts and is 1-3 with a 5.54 ERA, 4.52 FIP and 78 ERA+. He has displayed some excellent control as well, walking just two batters in 26 innings of work so far.
