Coming off of an electric three-game sweep against the Boston Red Sox, the Toronto Blue Jays arrive in Cleveland flying high. At 63-50, the Jays are still 7.5 GB of the division lead in the AL East but a playoff berth via Wild Card is still very much within reach.

Probable starting pitchers

  • For the Blue Jays, left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu is set to make his second start of the season. The 36-year-old is fresh off of an extensive road to recovery from Tommy John surgery and was able to make it through five innings in his season debut last time out. While the 10-year veteran did what he could to keep the Jays in the game, he surrendered four runs on nine hits and is looking to improve on that outing this time around.
  • The Guardians are going to turn to 24-year-old rookie Gavin Williams for the series-opening start. Williams will be making his ninth start of the year and has been a quietly reliable arm for Cleveland this year. In just under 43 innings of work to kick off his big league career, the rght-hander is 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA, 4.30 FIP and 125 ERA+.
